As some of you may have seen on my IG stories and post we spent a few weeks in Scottsdale, Arizona in February. It is such a amazing place to visit, the weather is perfect, there are palm trees everywhere and the dessert vibes are the best. It is honestly one of my favourite places to visit. We have been there quite a few times since we have family there, every time we go we make a point of spending some time at a luxury resort. This year we spent some time relaxing and getting pampered at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Gainey Ranch.
This place is so Instagram worthy with its gorgeous tropical plants, amazing pools, great dining options, lakes, and a championship golf course! A perfect place for a weekend getaway, girls weekend, or even a family vacation. There is so much to explore around the property or just have a relaxing vacation in the desert! What better place to spend our last few days in Scottsdale than this luxury family friendly destination resort?
LOCATION
The resort is located in the charming town of Scottsdale, a quick 20 minute Uber ride from the airport. Scottsdale has so many great things to offer, great shopping, dining, and nightlife. If you are into hiking like me, you will love all the great trail options everywhere all with great views of the desert. If you are lucky enough to live in Arizona, this is also a perfect staycation! Scottsdale may be home to several posh resorts and spas, but Hyatt Regency stands apart with its unique mix of modern and Old West design! Which I absolutely loved.
HOTEL ROOM
We stayed in a spacious room featuring a very comfortable king bed and balcony with plenty of space to lounge and take in the views of the mountain and lively pool scene! Every morning, we loved waking up to the sunrise over the tall palm trees! One of my favorite parts was the patio; it had the best views and was so spacious with 2-lounge chair and a table and chairs to enjoy your morning coffee (which I did every morning)
THE REGENCY CLUB
Guests have the option to upgrade any room with the Regency Club access, which I highly recommend! This gives you access to a hot breakfast buffet and snacks throughout the day as well as h’orderves in the evening. They even had special pricing for wine, beer and cocktails. We loved getting a glass of wine and some appies in the evening.
The Regency club is a great space to relax in the morning with a great outdoor space to take in the views and sounds of the desert. We would sit out in the patio in the afternoon and enjoy a coffee with the best cookies ever, ( I may have had way too many during this trip, lol)
RESTAURANTS AND DINING
Get ready for your taste buds to go on a culinary journey! They have so many great restaurants and bars spread across the property that you are never too far from a refreshing cocktail or a delicious meal! One night we decided to sit in the lobby (which by the way was probably one of the best hotel lobby’s I have ever been to), and have a casual dinner while listening to live music. It was amazing, the doors to the outside were fully open transforming the lobby to this great indoor/outdoor venue.
One of our evenings, we had the opportunity to indulge in the “Wine Me, Dine Me” experience at SWB which features authentic southwestern cuisine! You definitely won't leave hungry after this 4 course meal paired with several rounds of wine and tequila! It’s a personal 1 on 1 experience with the chefs who explain each of their dishes prior to serving you and you sit at the kitchen bar so you can watch them in action! The meal is different every night, depending on what is fresh and what the chef decides to prepare for you. There are a limited amount of seats for this experience so be sure to reserve in advance to save your spots!
AMENITIES AND ACTIVITIES
Wow, where do I start? There is simply so much to do here for a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation! One of the main attractions at the resort is of course their many pools featuring a tall water slide, sandy beach with 2.5 acre playground, and a separate adult pool with Jacuzzi. You can even have drinks and food delivered poolside with the backdrop of the majestic mountains; it’s impossible not to have a good time here!
If you want to feel like you are in Venice there is even gondola rides, be sure to ask for a complimentary ticket if you are dining at the restaurant in the resort.
There is also a golf course, I do not play golf but the course looked beautiful. If you want to be more active there are tennis courts and they even offer bikes so you can go and explore on your own.
If you want to take a break from all the great activities check out Spa Avania. In my opinion a spa day is a must on any vacation! This has got to be the most unique and biggest spa I’ve ever come across! We spent several hours here relaxing in the steam and sauna, hitting the hot tub and then enjoying a drink at the huge mineral pool. No better way to end a day.
We are already dreaming of when we can return back to this luxury desert oasis in Scottsdale. If it’s your first time in Scottsdale and you will love this resort and the location is perfect for exploring all Scottsdale has to offer.
Are you ready to plan your next getaway yet?
